The thigh rig docks the ShapeShift OWB holster, with a secure docking that won't release unless you want it to. It's adjustable for cant as well, so you can set the grip to the angle you want. Retention is no issue, as the ShapeShift is custom-molded for the 1911. Dial in passive retention to the exact setting you prefer, or add an active retention device for a 1911 retention holster for thigh carry.
